Specials

Each Special has a suggested day listed in the image below. Please choose one activity per day to complete in the suggested subject. On Friday the student can choose an extra activity from PE, Art, Technology, or Science that they would like to complete. The activities the Specials teachers have posted are intended to be used during the month of May. Several activities are available to choose from.

Important - On Friday every week, please complete the Specials Log in Teams with the activities your child has completed each day so we can assign credit. To receive a passing grade for the 4^th quarter, the student needs to complete 60% of the assigned work for each Special – PE, Art, Technology, and Science.

Technology
Washington students will be using various technologies during our time away. We have all been using these websites and tools all year so i am confident they will do a great job. Students should know their logins, if not you can contact me or one of the 1st grade teachers.

Students improve their word processing skills using text combined with images to illustrate their work. Students write sentences using proper capitalization, spelling, word spacing, and correct punctuation. Students also search for appropriate online images, then copy and paste the images into their document. Students take care to size and position their images (using text wrapping) next to each sentence. Learning to find and use images skillfully to illustrate written work builds the foundation for students to create multimedia presentations going forward.

Fitting three sentences with 3 images will require careful consideration of font size selection, appropriate image sizing, and skillful image positioning (text wrapping).

Physical Education

Physical activity is any body movement that works your muscles and requires more energy than resting. Please try to be physically active for at least 30 minutes. This does not need to be done all at one time but can be spread out throughout the day. If it is nice try and get outside and be active.
